Silver Cross Hospital is seeking an organized scheduling specialist to coordinate referrals and prior authorizations, schedule surgical procedures, and manage front-desk duties. You will greet and register patients, handle telephone inquiries, and liaise with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes accurate communication, multitasking, and knowledge of medical terminology, with a focus on patient-centered care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of healthcare experience or related experience preferred.
• Experience with providers and insurance for prior authorization preferred.
• Prior scheduling experience preferred.
• Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Works with providers, staff, patients, referring physicians and insurers to obtain referrals and prior authorizations.
• Performs scheduling of surgical procedures and manages calls; directs and prioritizes phone traffic.
• Greet, instruct, schedule, register and check-in patients.
• Acts as liaison between patients and medical support staff.
• Maintain positive attitude and assist others as needed.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate competencies for patient care.
