Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a healthcare scheduling professional responsible for obtaining referrals and prior authorizations, scheduling procedures, and handling patient check-in with a focus on exceptional service. The role supports coordination between providers, staff, patients, and insurance companies to ensure timely treatment access.

The position requires a high school diploma and prior healthcare or scheduling experience, with strong computer and communications skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years healthcare experience or related experience preferred.
• Experience working with providers and insurance companies to receive prior authorization.
• Candidates with previous scheduling experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures strongly preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prefer 3 years work experience, preferably in medical office setting or hospital.
• Microsoft Office experience such as Outlook, Word, Excel; preferably experience on an electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Obtain referrals and prior authorizations for necessary treatment.
• Schedule surgical procedures and manage calls and communications.
• Greet, instruct, direct, schedule, register, and check-in patients.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.
• Demonstrate patient age-appropriate care across age groups.
