Equiliem is seeking a Surgical Scheduler in Fairfax, VA to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, ensuring efficient operating room use and accurate patient information.

The role collaborates with surgeons, physician offices, OR coordinators, and care teams to resolve conflicts, verify preoperative requirements, and communicate schedule changes to patients. Experience with surgical scheduling and CPT codes is valued, along with strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with surgical scheduling or healthcare scheduling is relevant.
• Ability to gather, verify, and maintain accurate scheduling information.
• Familiarity with CPT codes, clinical documentation, and insurance information.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple procedures and resolve scheduling conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures, allocating OR time per guidelines.
• Coordinate similar procedures by date/time/location to optimize surgeon availability.
• Arrange equipment, instruments, and supplies with OR and clinical teams.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts with OR coordinator or designated rep.
• Obtain missing patient information, CPT codes, and special requests for postings.
• Review scheduling workflows with surgeons to identify process improvements.
• Maintain fair, safe OR scheduling prioritizing patient safety and access.
• Process scheduling requests accurately and professionally per procedures.
• Coordinate with surgeons and care team members for a smooth surgical experience.
• Verify preoperative exams and testing are completed before surgery date.
• Keep patients informed of scheduling changes and perioperative appointments.
• Receive and process scheduling requests from providers and clinics.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
