CLIENT is seeking a Surgical Scheduler in Alexandria, VA to manage all surgical scheduling and ensure correct coding information is collected for the schedule. This role supports smooth operation, efficient use of OR time, and timely patient care across the surgical team.

The Scheduler coordinates with physicians, OR staff, and clinics to map physician availability, prerequisites, and equipment needs, while maintaining patient safety and accuracy of postings.

Qualifications

• Experience scheduling surgical procedures in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with CPT codes and pre-operative planning.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates all surgical procedures with time allocations.
• Optimizes surgeon availability to maximize OR utilization.
• Coordinates equipment, instruments, and supplies with OR teams.
• Resolve conflicts by coordinating with OR leadership and collecting missing info.
• Identifies workflow improvements for fair and safe scheduling.
• Ensures pre-operative exams are completed and patients are updated on changes.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
