OrthoArizona, a premier orthopedic group, is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to coordinate surgeries, manage calendars, and communicate with patients, staff, and physicians. Ideal candidates will have scheduling experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency with practice management software.

The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support a fast-growing, multispecialty clinic network committed to high-quality musculoskeletal care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with practice management software and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
• Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Verify information in the patient’s medical record.
• Coordinate equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia for surgeries.
• Maintain and update physician calendars.
• Answer telephone, screen calls, and return patient calls promptly.
• Answer questions regarding upcoming surgeries.
• Update patient information.
• Prepare surgical packet materials.
• Assist in training and orienting new staff.

As a Surgical Scheduler with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
• Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
• Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
• Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
• Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
• Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
• Update patient information.
• Prepare surgical packet materials.
• Assist in training and orienting of new staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience surgery scheduling.
