Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join the Surgery Main team. The RNFA will work under the surgeon’s direction, in collaboration with the perioperative crew, to support optimal patient outcomes in the operating room and perioperative setting.

Qualifications include RN licensure, CNOR certification, completion of an RNFA program meeting AORN standards, and 2+ years as an OR nurse acting both as circulator and scrub.

• Must commit to call-stay shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction and supervision of the surgeon.
• Collaborate with the surgeon and healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Work in the perioperative area as defined in Staff RN job code 3178.
• Perform intraoperative tasks including closures, tissue handling, hemostasis, and trocar placement.
• Coordinate the camera or robotic arms during endoscopic surgery and provide exposure for the surgeon.
• Activate cautery and operate the ESU.
• Participate in specialized tissue handling and graft preparation as needed.
