Job summary

Wooster Community Hospital in Wooster, OH seeks a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) for the surgery team. Under surgeon supervision, you will assist during the procedure and may scrub or circulate when not RNFA.

Requirements: active OH RN license, BSN if not practicing as RNFA before 1/1/2020, CNOR, RNFA program meeting AORN standards, current AHA BLS/ACLS, and credentialing eligibility; CRNFA preferred.

Qualifications

• Active OH RN license required.
• BSN required for those not practicing as RNFA before 1/1/2020.
• CNOR certification is required.
• Successful completion of RNFA program meeting AORN standards.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS credentials.
• Must obtain and maintain Medical Staff credentialing.
• CRNFA certification completion and maintenance is preferred.
• Must be able to respond within 30 minutes or stay on site when on call.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operative procedures as RNFA.
• Position, prep, and drape patient as directed.
• Provide hemostasis and exposure using instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging.
• Assist with wound closure and tissue handling per surgeon guidance.
• Transfer patient from operating room and maintain infection control standards.
