Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in IL with IDFPR
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• CNOR certification preferred or required by role

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries, ensuring trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready for each procedure
• Provide patient care and support throughout perioperative period
• Administer medications as directed
• Scrub and circulate as needed in accordance with unit requirements
• Prepare supplies and coordinate equipment to maintain cost-effective department
• Assist in room turnover and workflow efficiency
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare, including post-op expectations
• Monitor vital signs and patient status during and after surgery
• Document and communicate patient health status to team and family
• Support research activities and ensure compliance with hospital policies
