Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN First Assist (RNFA) to support surgeons during general and specialized surgeries. The RNFA independently conducts perioperative assessment and post-operative evaluation while collaborating with surgeons and the OR team to ensure materials and instruments are ready.

Qualified candidates will hold an RN license (Illinois or applicable state), a RNFA program completion, and CNOR certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with state licensure.
• Completion of RNFA program and CNOR preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries with OR team coordination.
• Provide patient care and support; administer medications.
• Scrub and circulate based on unit needs; prepare supplies and equipment.
