Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit in Illinois. This role involves post-operative care for complex surgical patients, ostomy management, wound care, and close collaboration with surgical residents.

The unit operates as a high-acuity team with 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratios and a 43-bed unit, offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants and relocation incentives for eligible distances. An Illinois RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois (as per IDFPR) and BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties specific to the unit.
• Maintains accurate documentation for the healthcare team integration.
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops plan of care with family involvement.
• Implements and adjusts care plans based on evaluation and safety standards.
• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients, including wound/ostomy care.
• Collaborates with surgical residents and OMFS teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
