Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced registered nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The unit handles acute and chronic digestive surgical patients and operates as a high-acuity, trauma-informed environment with a 43-bed capacity.

Responsibilities include post-operative care, wound management, ostomy care, and close collaboration with surgical residency teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. A sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with a 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with IDFPR license
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• HS Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care over the patient course.
• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients and manages wounds (including wound vac).
• Collaborates with general surgical residency and OMFS residency services to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
