Carle Health is hiring an RN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit in Illinois. The unit provides high-acuity care with bariatric certification and close collaboration with surgical residents and OMFS.

Sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for external applicants with a 3-year commitment. The role emphasizes postoperative care for complex surgical patients, wound and ostomy management, and active involvement in safety and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois (IDFPR)
• BLS certification within 30 days per AHA
• HS Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment on admission and develop a care plan.
• Implement and adjust nursing interventions and patient care procedures.
• Ensure patient and staff safety and report hazards or incidents.
• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
• Care for tracheostomy patients and wound management including wound vacs.
• Educate patients and families on ostomies and care needs.
• Collaborate with surgical residency and OMFS teams for patient care.
