Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality direct and indirect patient‑centered care in a surgical and labor/delivery setting.

Utilize the nursing process to coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, communicate patient status promptly, and ensure age‑appropriate care across the lifespan. Candidates must hold CT RN licensure, be CPR certified on hire, and bring prior experience in surgical or labor/delivery environments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills are required to document care and communicate with teams.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments using the nursing process across age groups.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to implement and evaluate care plans.
• Adhere to medication administration rights and safety policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and patient status.
• Ensure patient safety and advocate for best outcomes in all care settings.
• Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in high-stress situations.
• Exercise sound judgment and priority setting in clinical tasks.
• Provide age-appropriate care with growth and development considerations.
• Report patient condition accurately for safe transfer of care.
