Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient‑centered care within the surgical services team.

You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary staff and families using the nursing process and promote patient safety across the perioperative continuum. The role requires CT RN licensure, CPR certification on hire, and prior surgical or labor/delivery experience, including assisting with C-sections.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with CT RN license.
• CPR certification required on hire.
• Experience in surgical or labor and delivery, specifically assisting with C-sections.

Responsibilities

• Performs population-specific comprehensive assessments and reassessments of patient conditions and care needs.
• Collaborates with surgical team to define, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Follows medication rights and demonstrates knowledge of medications for patient safety.
• Maintains aseptic technique and communicates about counts and procedural safety.
• Documents nursing processes and responses to care in a timely manner.
• Functions autonomously while mentoring others and pursuing professional growth.
• Provides accurate reports for safe transfer of care and prepares procedure rooms with required supplies.
• Supports the team in maintaining patient safety and quality outcomes.
