Job summary

Carle Health is hiring an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. A $2,500 sign-on bonus accompanies a 2-year commitment; external applicants only are welcome. The unit emphasizes high acuity care, collaboration with RNs, and comprehensive patient management from admission through discharge.

The ideal candidate holds an IL LPN license, an active BLS, and at least 1 year of LPN experience. Expect a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio with a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• LPN license in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN's initial assessment.
• Charts care plans that the RN has opened; assist with new care plans as needed.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform trach care and insert/care for NG tube and feedings.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge instructions.
