CitiMed in New York is seeking an experienced Surgical Coordinator to expertly schedule surgeries and pain management procedures. You will ensure every detail—from codes to time and location—aligns with the provider's diagnosis and patient needs, while supporting patients throughout their journey to wellness.

The role requires proactive leadership, independence, and strong communication with internal teams, providers, and insurers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in NY workers' compensation and No Fault.
  • Minimum 1 year in surgical coordinating, particularly in workers' compensation or No Fault.
  • Proficient in using EHR systems.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately schedule all surgeries or medical procedures.
  • Ensure scheduling details are up to date, with proper codes, provider, time and location.
  • Use clinical knowledge to verify alignment with diagnosis/indications.
  • Verify patient demographics and assist with informed consent documentation.
  • Create follow-up appointments post-surgery.
  • Communicate with insurance to obtain preauthorizations and finalize details.
  • Maintain daily/weekly communication with practice locations.
  • Coordinate with domestic and international colleagues on scheduling.
  • Arrange pretesting appointments for medical clearance.
  • Enter notes and keep medical records up to date.
  • Place confirmation calls before scheduled surgery.
