Job summary

US Eye, a physician-led network of eye care practices, is seeking a Surgical Counselor to manage surgical scheduling, post-op coordination, and education on premium lenses. You will liaise with ASC staff and the financial team to obtain authorizations and communicate costs.

This full-time role travels to multiple practice locations around Charleston and surrounding areas. A high school diploma and experience in medical offices or sales preferred; strong customer service and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Prior experience in customer service preferred.
• Prior experience in medical sales preferred.
• Prior medical office experience preferred.
• Must work under pressure and respond to patient requests positively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain concierge-level service for surgical patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures, lens options, and pricing.
• Coordinate with financial team to obtain insurance authorizations and collect payments.
• Assist patients with payment plans and collect co-pays, co-insurances, deposits, and full amounts.
• Communicate scheduling and insurance updates to patients.
• Schedule ASC surgeries, preoperative, and postoperative appointments.
• Prepare all financial and scheduling paperwork prior to surgery.
