Job summary

Eye Health Vision Centers is seeking a Surgical Counselor to provide administrative and scheduling support for all surgical procedures in our Dartmouth-area offices. The role focuses on identifying patients' needs, explaining products and services, and guiding decisions that align with patients’ goals.

The position requires knowledge of ophthalmic services, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate financing options and appointment scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmic settings or medical assisting is preferred.
• Ability to explain products/services and financing options clearly.
• Proven ability to collect and verify patient information and consent.

Responsibilities

• Discusses lens options with patient after the doctor visit.
• Develop criteria to profile patients for services.
• Coordinate with physician/carrier for financing decisions.
• Schedule surgical and post-operative appointments.
• Review medications and medical history; ensure consent forms are complete.
• Verify insurance and communicate financial responsibility to patients.
