Job summary

Maryland Oncology Hematology is seeking a dedicated candidate for internal surgery scheduling across our Maryland locations. You will coordinate pre-operative testing, insurance authorization, and communications between patients, physicians, and facilities to ensure smooth procedures.

The role involves arranging OR blocks, coordinating anesthesia, and maintaining accurate chart documentation while upholding compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards
• Review patient medications and health history; assess surgical clearance
• Coordinate case scheduling tasks: pre-operative appointments, notify representatives
• Coordinate, schedule, and authorize pre-operative clearance testing and imaging
• Complete and send required scheduling documentation and surgical orders
• Maintain EMR/PM system inputs including surgical concents and orders
• Obtain necessary authorizations and pre-certifications for surgery
• Serve as patient advocate and liaison with payors, office and facility
• Ensure pathology/OR reports are captured in chart; manage case follow-ups
