Job summary

Carle Health in Springfield, IL is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join the Operating Room team. You will act as first/second assistant to the surgeon, support the perioperative team, and handle intraoperative tasks under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Asepsis principles and sterile environment maintenance.
• Knowledge of anatomy/physiology relevant to procedures.
• Ability to support intraoperative tasks and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and aseptic technique.
• Coordinates supplies/equipment for efficiency and cost control.
• Performs intraoperative assistance and patient care planning.
• Operates autoclave sterilization units.
• Assists in room turnover and procedure setup.
