Carle Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our Operating Room team. You will support the surgeon as first or second assistant, maintain sterile technique, and help coordinate supplies and equipment for efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS within 30 days; CSA or CST or Licensed Surgical Assistant.
• Experience: 2+ years operating room scrub.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a sterile environment through aseptic technique.
• Assists with supplies, equipment, and patient positioning.
• Performs intraoperative assistance as first or second assistant.
• Operates autoclave sterilization units.
• Supports room turnover and prepares sterile fields.
• Assists in planning patient care with nursing staff.
