Qualifications

• Education and certifications in surgical technology are required.
• Full clinical experience in an operating room setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies the principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient department.
• Initiates intraoperative behavior as first or second assistant being guided by the RN.
• Maintains patient safety and complies with hospital policies and procedures.
• Assists in room turnover and in planning patient care with the nurse.
