Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our Operating Room team in a versatile role supporting surgeons and the perioperative team. We offer variable shifts and scheduling to fit lifestyle goals, with opportunities for professional growth in a state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology certificate, valid BLS, and appropriate CST/CSA licensure. Prior OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology with BLS within 30 days.
• CSA, CST or licensed surgical assistant credentials preferred.
• Experience in the operating room as a scrub or first assistant is valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asepsis and provide sterile environment throughout procedures.
• Assist in supplies, equipment, and patient positioning for surgeries.
• Perform intraoperative assistance such as suctioning, camera holding, and retracting.
• Support nursing staff and plan patient care with OR team.
• Operate sterilization equipment and manage room turnover.
