Job summary

Optum is seeking a medical administrative coordinator in Massachusetts to coordinate surgical bookings and hospital admissions for multiple clinicians. The role includes managing scheduling, coordinating operating room time, and ensuring clear communication with patients throughout the process.

You will train on-site for about the first 60 days and may work both remote and office-based after onboarding. HIPAA privacy and PHI handling are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of administrative experience in a medical/healthcare setting.
• Experience with scheduling or EPIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical bookings and hospital admissions for multiple clinicians.
• Schedule patients for hospital admissions and procedures.
• Coordinate operating room and surgeon time.
• Communicate with patients throughout the booking process with compassion.
• Ensure pre- and post-operative appointments and tests are scheduled.
• Maintain PHI privacy and HIPAA compliance.
