Job summary

Urology San Antonio is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler to manage surgery schedules for multiple physicians onsite, coordinating with patients, physicians, anesthesia providers, labs and other medical staff.

Responsibilities include scheduling surgeries and admissions, ensuring documentation, patient education, and liaison with Pre-Cert and billing; requires EMR and Office 365 proficiency; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR).
• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Proficiency with PDF documents.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Experience verifying eligibility and benefits, referrals, and pre-authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Schedules non-clinic surgeries, admissions, and procedures for in-patient or outpatient settings.
• Coordinates with physicians, anesthesia, laboratories, and other medical staff.
• Ensures documentation is complete for orders and hospital paperwork.
• Follows up to ensure surgeries occur as scheduled and handles delays.
• Educates patients and coordinates with PCP for clearances as needed.
• Collaborates with Surgery Pre-Cert and billing for payment verification.
• Tracks scheduled cases and reports status to department management.
• Maintains digital surgery packets and uses AIDET for patient communication.
