Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a health care organization.
• Two years of related experience in a health care organization is preferred.
• Experience with Electronic health record.
• Experience with insurance companies.
• Strong experience with hospital surgery scheduling.
• Experience with insurance verification and authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the surgery schedule, providing necessary information to patients and providers
• Conducts patient pre-certification for insurance approval for appointments and medical care
• Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability, pre-surgery medication is arranged prior to scheduled procedure
• Communicates detailed information and answers patient's questions regarding surgery preparation instructions arrival/departure instructions
• Schedules any necessary follow up appointments as directed by provider
• Performs other duties as assigned
