Job summary

Spokane Urology PS is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate scheduling of surgeries, preauthorizations, and follow-up appointments. You will review pre-op requirements, medications, allergies, and medical history with patients, ensuring accurate data entry in the scheduling system.

The role requires excellent communication, organization, and patient service skills to handle scheduling changes, cancellations, and inquiries while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year scheduling experience in a surgery center and/or medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Schedules office, surgery centers and hospital-based procedures for patients with provider and time/location slot.
• Pre-authorizes surgeries with insurance companies and schedules procedures in the designated facility.
• Maintains a surgical log for statistical analysis.
• Provides pre-surgical packets to patients with date and pre-operative instructions.
• Coordinates with surgical facilities for any special equipment or personnel needed for surgery.
• Ensures pre-operative labs are ordered, tracked for completion and scanned into the EMR.
• Audits scheduling for accuracy before publication and handles changes/cancellations.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
