Job summary

United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI) is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator responsible for daily maintenance of the surgery schedule and coordination with doctors'' offices and OR staff. The role emphasizes leadership, customer service, and problem solving to resolve scheduling conflicts.

Pay ranges from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience. The position includes comprehensive benefits and normal hospital workflow across OR, GI lab and 23-hour stay environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience required.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
• Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
• Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.
• Professional appearance.
• Strong medical terminology.
• Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient processing, including OR, GI lab, and 23-hour stays.
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling for coverage.
• Accurately uses procedure codes to ensure proper billing.
• Verifies information entered into the system (name, DOB, gender, insurance) for accuracy.
• Ensures all required paperwork for new patients is received by staff.
• Communicates schedule changes to appropriate staff.
• Ensures all fields in Advantx are completed.
• Works with OR director to avoid equipment or supply conflicts.
• Alerts administration when new doctors or procedures are scheduled.
• Cross trains with other areas.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder.
• Promotes positive relationships with scheduling coordinators, physicians and nursing staff.
