Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to maintain the surgery schedule and manage the full scheduling cycle. You will lead scheduling efforts across multiple doctors' offices and operating room staff, providing exceptional customer service and strategic problem solving to resolve conflicts efficiently.

The role requires 2–4 years in a hospital or medical office setting, strong communication skills, and a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience required.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication in a professional manner.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a high-paced environment.
• Desire to improve hospital operations and patient service.

Responsibilities

• Set priorities and organize work.
• Schedule patient procedures including OR, GI lab, and 23-hour stays.
• Coordinate with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling coverage.
• Accurately use procedure codes for billing.
• Verify patient information for accuracy.
• Ensure all paperwork for new patient adds is received by staff.
• Communicate scheduling changes to staff and physicians.
• Ensure all required fields in the system are completed.
• Collaborate with OR director to prevent equipment or supply conflicts.
• Notify administration when new doctors or procedures are scheduled.
• Cross-train with other areas.
• Complete consents and submit to the chart builder.
• Foster positive relationships with schedulers, physicians, and nursing staff.
