Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgery or procedure scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient processing of information.
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling for coverage.
• Set post-surgical appointments with doctors and perform all necessary tests.
• Inform patients and third parties about pre- and post-surgery instructions.
• Receive all needed medical records and history from patients.
• Take reservations for surgeries and schedule dates based on surgeon availability.
• Order test results and assess reports to determine readiness for surgery.
• Create a daily surgery schedule and surgical log for all departments.
• Provide updates regarding patients' surgery schedules.
• Verify insurance and authorization.
• Promote positive relationships with schedulers, physicians and nursing staff.
