Indiana University Health is seeking a full-time Scheduling Clerk in Surgery Administration at IU Health Methodist Hospital. The role focuses on scheduling surgical procedures, tests, and therapies, coordinating with departments to ensure timely patient care, and maintaining related records.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, medical office experience, knowledge of insurance verification, and familiarity with Cerner scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.
• Knowledge of Cerner scheduling preferred.
• Requires general knowledge of medical terminology and general anatomy to recognize and record examinations/diagnoses.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Scheduling experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, therapy services and other medical appointments timely and accurately.
• Coordinates scheduling with other departments and facilities.
• Maintains related records and code charges; performs related clerical and administrative duties.
• Ensures timely receipt of written orders and verifies orders meet compliance guidelines as a quality assurance measure.
• May be responsible for charge audit functions for the department.
