Job summary

Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Triage to coordinate patient care and scheduling across clinics. This role ensures efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and responsive patient communication in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.

Responsibilities include scheduling surgeries and imaging, processing authorizations, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years as a medical assistant or similar in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, EMR and scheduling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound calls and coordinate surgical and imaging scheduling.
• Submit medical records and assist with pre-authorization as needed.
• Obtain physician clearance for treatment and communicate with patients and insurers.
• Document authorization numbers in the EMR and monitor the process for timely updates.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate post-op follow-ups and PT as needed.
