Job summary

Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking a Medical Assistant to coordinate clinical care outside of clinic visits and provide concierge service while ensuring patient safety and quality. You will schedule surgeries, imaging, and pre/post-op care, document in the EMR, and assist with prior-authorizations.

Experience as a medical assistant and knowledge of surgical workflows are preferred. The role may involve travel to multiple Austin locations and requires excellent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience.
• Two years of surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates clinical care outside the clinic to provide concierge customer service.
• Schedules surgeries, imaging, and pre- and post-op appointments; follows physician guidelines.
• Obtains pre-authorization and verifies insurance as needed; communicates with patients and providers.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR for authorization numbers and dates.
• Monitors adverse events and ensures patient confidentiality; travel to other locations as needed.
