Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to handle full-cycle surgery scheduling and patient documentation in a fast-paced orthopedic podiatry setting. The role involves contacting patients, reviewing medical history, collecting current medications, and identifying preoperative issues to ensure smooth procedures.

The scheduler will communicate preoperative instructions, manage scheduling with the appropriate physician, and support check-in/check-out on a rotating basis while maintaining HIPAA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED / equivalent required.
• Two years of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA privacy and security is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and prepare documentation for surgeries.
• Review patient medical history and current medications.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations for surgery and radiology testing.
• Coordinate preoperative testing and patient instructions.
