Responsibilities

• Works reception desk, check-in/check-out position, and surgery scheduling on a rotation basis.
• Enters and updates patient demographic and insurance information in computer.
• Schedules, reschedules and verifies patient appointments, prioritizing acute cases.
• Performs full-cycle surgery scheduling and patient surgery consenting, including pre/post op testing and approvals.
• Obtains patient referrals and verifies insurance eligibility.
• Obtains authorizations for surgery and radiology testing ordered by the physician.
• Answers multiline telephone, triage calls, handle complaints, and manage messages.
• Maintains patient files in the electronic health record and mails medical records requests.
