Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage preoperative and scheduling activities for our orthopedics and podiatry practice in Louisville, KY. You will contact patients to review medical history, coordinate with physicians, and prepare all surgical documentation.

Responsibilities include scheduling, insurance verification, authorizations, and sending preop materials. You will also participate in front desk duties on a rotating basis and ensure HIPAA compliance throughout processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with scheduling and coordinating surgeries.
• Familiar with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and prepare documentation for all surgeries.
• Contact patients to review medical history and medications.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations.
• Send preoperative information packets and instructions.
• Support check-in/check-out on a rotation basis.
