Qualifications

• Two years of work experience in a medical office or healthcare environment with knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies.
• Experience handling scheduling, data entry, and documentation in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments and ancillary services – surgical procedures.
• Schedules patient surgical procedures based on authorized referral and verifies physician privilege status prior to scheduling.
• Gathers and documents insurance eligibility data and enters data in the EMR.
• Coordinates pre-surgery clearance requirements prior to procedure.
• Reviews work queues to identify patients needing contact to confirm/renew appointments and contacts patients accordingly.
• Follows up with patients to reschedule missed/cancelled appointments and notes reasons for no-shows.
