Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to orchestrate complex operational logistics across resources, personnel, and services. You will manage intricate scheduling, data entry, template maintenance, and data integrity with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least two years of related experience in a healthcare environment or current CHI Mercy Health employee.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the surgery schedule.
• Coordinate, register and schedule appointments for patients.
• Conduct patient pre-certification on proper insurance approval for appointments and medical care.
• Ensure all pre-operative required tests needed prior to surgery are scheduled and completed.
• Coordinate and ensure necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medications, etc. is arranged prior to scheduled procedure.
• Communicate detailed information and answer patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure.
