Job summary

MedHQ is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to organize and maintain OR scheduling systems and front desk operations. The role includes insurance verification and supporting front business office functions to ensure smooth daily operations.

You will interact with physicians, patients, and insurers, coordinating schedules and obtaining approvals, while maintaining accurate records and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience clerical medical office experience.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Experience using HST Pathways preferred.

Responsibilities

• Speaks to and approaches others in a friendly and compassionate way.
• Communicates effectively with physicians offices, insurance companies, patients about insurance benefits and costs.
• Manages time, prioritizes tasks, and adheres to deadlines.
• Handles multiple assignments in a high-pressure environment with deadlines.
• Maintains surgical scheduling and bookings daily.
• Coordinates with Administrator/Clinical Director on the center’s schedule for add-ons or changes.
• Obtains insurance verification and ensures cases have approval before surgery date.
• Registers incoming surgical patients for procedures.
• Answers and directs incoming calls.
• Develops workflows and strives for continuous improvement.
• Performs other duties as needed.
