Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a PMG Surgery Scheduler responsible for scheduling and coordinating complex surgical procedures. This role requires strong communication with clinics, surgeons, OR and related departments to ensure case accuracy from creation to completion.

Responsibilities include managing OR/ASC/clinc schedules, arranging preoperative tests, ensuring prior authorizations are in place, and coordinating post-operative follow-up.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills essential for coordination with clinic, surgeon, OR, ASC and outside personnel.
• Requires strong organizational skills and ability to function under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with providers, patients, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Manage complex provider schedules including OR schedules, ASC schedules and clinic schedules.
• Coordinate preoperative studies and ensure prior authorizations/certifications/referrals are in place before procedures.
• Determine personnel/equipment needs and coordinate with OR/ASC staff per surgeon instruction.
• Schedule all surgical procedures and ensure appropriate clinical and insurance coding information is collected.
