Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler in Greensboro, NC to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures and related services, ensuring efficient operating room utilization and a smooth patient experience.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Minimum three years of healthcare scheduling experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of office, clerical, healthcare scheduling, or related experience required.
• Previous surgical scheduling or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and related services based on physician preferences, patient needs, and facility requirements.
• Recommend surgery dates and times to providers while ensuring appropriate operating room utilization and scheduling efficiency.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures, physician preferences, equipment needs, and scheduling requirements.
• Ensure surgical cases are scheduled accurately and within established guidelines and timeframes.
• Prepare and maintain reports, schedules, and patient documentation related to surgical procedures.
• Utilize scheduling and healthcare information systems to manage appointments, procedures, and patient information.
• Review future operating room schedules and collaborate with physicians to maximize available resources.
