Job summary

TLC Outpatient Surgery & Laser Center in Florida is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage the daily surgery schedule across the operating room, GI lab, and 23-hour stay. You will coordinate with physicians, anesthesia, and OR staff to ensure efficient, accurate processing and billing, while delivering high levels of customer service.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience, strong medical terminology, excellent phone etiquette, and a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures across OR, GI lab, and 23-hour stay.
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling coverage.
• Uses procedure codes to ensure proper billing.
• Verifies patient information for accuracy (name, DOB, gender, insurance).
• Ensures all required paperwork for new patients is received and filed correctly.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff.
• Ensures required fields in Advantx are completed.
• Works with OR director to avoid equipment/supply conflicts.
• Alerts administration when new doctors or procedures are scheduled.
• Cross-trains with other areas.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder.
