Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide region-based support for GE HealthCare Surgery (OEC Imaging). You will learn and perform installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs with experienced engineers, while working on-site at customer locations in New Mexico and the El Paso, TX area.

You will develop independence in handling service calls within a year, maintain logs, and collaborate with regional teams.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate's or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent military education; or 4+ years servicing electronic equipment.
  • Experience with Web applications and Microsoft suite of products.
  • Valid Driver's License required and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide region-based support for GE HealthCare Surgery (OEC Imaging) for a single modality.
  • Learn to complete timely and accurate installations, preventive maintenance, FMIs, and/or ISIs.
  • Troubleshoot and perform service repairs on designated equipment with experienced field engineers.
  • Develop ability to work independently and answer service calls within one year.
  • Communicate with teammates, colleagues and customers to resolve issues and ensure follow-up.
  • Recommend value-added services to improve customer operational efficiency.
  • Maintain customer service logs and internal service records.
  • Order repair parts and manage cycle times.
  • Use GEHC escalation processes and collaborate with regional and national support on corrective action plans.
  • Serve as a member of the account community for key accounts.
  • Engage commercial counterparts, identify sales leads, and support revenue programs.
  • Build customer relationships and become a trusted business partner.
  • Monitor competitor information and market trends.
  • Work onsite at customer locations in the New Mexico/El Paso, Texas area.

Job description

Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 4 years of experience servicing electronic equipment
  • Experience with Web applications and Microsoft suite of products
  • Valid Driver's License required and must be maintained
  • Willingness to work after hours or rotating on-call schedules, including weekends, as necessary
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Required vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • GE HealthCare will not sponsor employment visas
  • Desired: experience in surgery modalities
