Qualifications

Job description

  • Evaluate complex customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs
  • Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and environmental inspections
  • Maintain effective customer relations and communicate proactively with customers
  • Follow and guide others regarding GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and documentation
  • Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals and objectives
  • Lead, instruct, and assist technicians with basic and complex repairs
  • Work as part of a local team to provide efficient service delivery to assigned accounts
  • Share on-call/pager responsibility
  • Document repair actions and submit scheduled reports and summaries
  • Maintain care, calibration, and inventory of spares, tools, test equipment, and approved parts
  • Manage vendors' service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies
  • Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for safe and effective medical equipment use
  • May serve as Site Leader, directing Biomedical Technicians and participating in customer account activities
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety, regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements
  • Complete required quality and compliance training and report customer quality or compliance concerns
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 4 years of experience servicing medical equipment
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Willingness to work after hours or a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain the license
  • Successful completion of GEHC's standard background check and post-offer drug test
  • Compliance with customer access policies, including required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks as applicable
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
