Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent military education, or GE Healthcare Biomedical/Field Engineer Services Internship/Externship.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years servicing electronic, electrical, IT/networking or mechanical equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to maintain license; travel up to 25% overnight.

Job description

  • Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment within hospitals or healthcare systems
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic service repairs on customer equipment
  • Assist experienced field engineers with equipment installations and complex repairs
  • Engage with team members to determine appropriate customer solutions
  • Maintain customer relationships through timely communication, resolution, and follow-up
  • Follow company policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Document all work performed daily, including debriefing and ordering parts
  • Partner with customers and/or sales teams to recommend value-added services
  • Use the GEHC escalation process and collaborate with regional and national support to resolve customer issues
  • Work onsite at customer locations, primarily in the Hartford, Connecticut area
Requirements
  • Associate degree; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GE Healthcare Biomedical or Field Engineer Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program
  • Alternatively, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 2 years of experience servicing electronic, electrical, IT/networking or mechanical equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain license
  • Ability to be available after-hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends
  • Up to 25% overnight travel required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch, squat, kneel, crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex and extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Technical capabilities in PCS and/or general medical equipment
  • Networking certifications
