Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Medical Equipment Field Service Engineer to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation across hospital settings in Columbia, SC. You will lead customer communications, own issues from dispatch to resolution, and collaborate with teammates to ensure compliant service delivery.

Some travel and after-hours/on-call work may be required; experience with X-ray/CT/Nuclear Medicine equipment is a plus, valid driver's license and US work

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years servicing medical equipment, or equivalent military education.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain license.
  • Willingness to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends for critical issues.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
  • Experience with X-ray, CT, and Nuclear Medicine equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install medical equipment of moderate complexity.
  • Lead customer communications and act as escalation point for customer concerns.
  • Own customer issues from dispatch or identification through resolution.
  • Collaborate with team to ensure appropriate customer solutions.
  • Lead installations, validations, maintenance, and service repairs on designated equipment.
  • Maintain customer relationships and ensure timely communication, resolution, and follow-up.
  • Document all work performed daily, including debriefing, metrics, and parts ordering.
  • Recommend value-added services with customers and/or the sales team.
  • Work independently on moderately complex repairs across one or more modalities.

Job description

Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance of medical equipment within hospitals or healthcare systems
Troubleshoot, repair, and install medical equipment of moderate complexity
Lead customer communications and serve as an escalation point for customer concerns, including installations
Own customer issues from dispatch or identification through resolution
Collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate customer solutions
Lead installations, validations, maintenance, and service repairs on designated equipment
Leverage customer relationships to support contract and on-demand revenue growth
Maintain customer relationships and ensure timely communication, resolution, and follow-up
Follow company policies, procedures, hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards
Document all work performed daily, including debriefing, metrics, and parts ordering
Recommend value-added services with customers and/or the sales team
Use the GEHC escalation process and collaborate with regional and national support to implement corrective action plans
Work independently on moderately complex repairs and perform preventative maintenance across one or more equipment modalities

Requirements
  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and a minimum of 3 years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 6 years of experience servicing medical equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain license
  • Experience interfacing with internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process
  • Willingness to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends for critical issues and coverage as necessary
  • Some overnight travel may be required
  • Experience with Web applications and Microsoft suite of products
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch, squat, kneel, crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex and extend neck, and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Experience servicing X-ray, CT, and Nuclear Medicine equipment would be a plus
