• Supervise employees involved in the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to domestic and international customers, distribution centers, and organizational branches


• Schedule and coordinate the routing of incoming and outgoing shipments


• Negotiate rates, delivery terms, freight rates, and classifications with carriers as needed


• Analyze carrier service performance


• Develop and implement procedures and methods to reduce costs


• Resolve claims for loss or damage


• Recommend staffing decisions, performance appraisals, subordinate training and development, promotions, salary increases, terminations, and disciplinary actions
