Job summary

Jobtailor in Buffalo, NY is seeking an experienced Logistics Team Lead to work directly with customers on shipping needs, pricing, and freight volume. You will build strong relationships and guide a truck load team to ensure accurate load entry and on-time execution.

You will collaborate with Sales on new business and onboarding, coach team members, and maintain a productive environment that reflects our brand and service standards in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in supply chain/logistics required.

Responsibilities

• Discuss shipping needs, transportation options, and pricing with customers to secure freight volume.

Job description

Work directly with customers to discuss shipping needs, transportation options, and pricing to secure and grow freight volume.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support long-term partnerships and account growth.
Create and maintain account plans, identify opportunities within customer networks, and ensure accurate load entry and shipment details.
Collaborate with the Sales team on new business acquisition and onboarding of new customers.
Lead, manage, and support a truck load team to ensure efficient freight coverage and execution.
Manage daily workflow within the team to ensure loads are booked, covered, and tracked accurately and on time.
Serve as the escalation point for customer, carrier, and operational issues raised by team members.
Coach, develop, and support team members to promote strong performance, growth, and engagement.
Ensure a positive, productive, and professional team environment.
Work closely with the TL Operations Manager to align team performance with operational goals and service expectations.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the company brand

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in the supply chain/logistics industry is required.
• Prior experience leading or supervising a team strongly preferred.
• Ability to negotiate, persuade, and motivate others.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships.
