Job Description

SUMMARY

The Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities at the Cashiering locations within contract guidelines and under the leadership of the Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Prepare work schedules to expedite workflow.
  2. Handle escalated issues.
  3. Follow up on client requests to implement new procedures.
  4. Assign duties and review work for accuracy.
  5. Assist and provide input to the manager with hiring and termination processes.
  6. Be responsible for coaching, counseling, and/or corrective actions of staff.
  7. Oversee staff training.
  8. Assist staff with job duties when needed.
  9. Motivate staff and participate in departmental goals.
  10. Communicate with clients in the absence of the Manager.
  11. Balance all daily transactions.
  12. Complete weekly payroll.
  13. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  14. Prepare monthly schedules.
  15. Approve or deny vacation requests.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least three (3) years of prior experience in cashiering functions.
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory/management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and interest.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, data collection, and ability to draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
