Job summary

Jobtailor in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Project Field Leader to guide day-to-day operations on large commercial construction projects, including higher education or healthcare facilities. You will coordinate vendors and subcontractors, implement site safety plans, manage the Project Schedule with pull planning, report progress, and travel 100% to job sites and offices as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in LARGE ($10M+) commercial construction, including higher education or healthcare
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Experience with pull planning and Last Planner System
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and Primavera
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
  • Ability to manage complex situations involving ambiguity and conflict resolution
  • Ability to maintain focus on safety, financial performance, and client expectations
  • Must travel 100% of the time to job sites and office locations

Responsibilities

  • Provide complete project field leadership and direction for day-to-day operations of assigned projects in partnership with the Project Manager
  • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors to install scopes of work according to Contract Documents and Project Schedule
  • Maintain overall job site safety, logistics, cleanliness, and professionalism
  • Implement the Site-Specific Safety Plan and lead project safety meetings
  • Manage job site logistics, conditions, and incident investigations
  • Create, maintain, update, and accurately report the Project Schedule
  • Monitor schedule logic, develop recovery plans, and lead pull planning efforts
  • Coordinate site construction activities and mitigate project constraints
  • Oversee the Site Quality Assurance Plan, trade partner activities, and contract compliance
  • Schedule and attend inspections with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, third-party inspectors, and clients
  • Coordinate installation between trades and drive trade partner progress
  • Attend jobsite meetings, schedule deliveries, document project activities, coordinate job progress, assist with inspections, review vendor/subcontractor invoices, and prepare status reports
  • Collaborate with inter-company field leadership to drive efficiencies and best practices
  • Monitor and author Daily Reports
  • Drive submittal processing and review to support timely material procurement
  • Manage Project Quality Assurance implementation and resolve deficiencies
  • Attend project update meetings and communicate project health and progress
  • Measure and report project progress
  • Monitor Energy Savings targets and coordinate with M&V and Engineering teams
  • Ensure legal, permit, safety, quality, and contract compliance
  • Document existing site conditions and interface with facility operators
  • Support start-up and commissioning activities
  • Promote and maintain company culture with all stakeholders
